Welcome to my Web Page

I got my Ph. D. in Mathematics at the Mathematics Department of Cinvestav in January 2003, under the supervision of Dr. Rafael H. Villarreal. You can find more information about my academic ancestors and my Ph. D. students in the Mathematics Genealogy Project. From August 2003 to February 2005 I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Mexican Petroleum Institute and from March 2005 to April 2006 I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Mathematics of the UNAM.

Since December 2023, I have been associated editor of the Boletín de la Sociedad Matemática Mexicana. Also, since 2016 I have been part of the editorial board of the Miscelánea Matemática of Sociedad Matemática Mexicana. From 2013 to 2015 I was a member of the editorial board of the Carta Informativa of Sociedad Matemática Mexicana.

At the summer school in mathematics Cinvestav 2019, I gave the talk "La combinatoria de Catalan en las estructuras aritméticas de una gráfica". And at the joint meeting of the Real Sociedad Matemática Española (RSME) y la Sociedad Matemática Mexicana (SMM), I gave the talk "Algunos aspectos algorítmicos de las estructuras aritméticas" .

Honors

  • Weizmann Prize 2004 from the Mexican Academy of Sciences for the best doctoral thesis in the area of exact sciences.
  • Arturo Rosenblueth Prize 2003 from Cinvestav for the best doctoral thesis in the Natural Sciences Area.
  • Since 2005, I have belong to the National Researchers Network (SNI) of CONACyT. I am currently level II.
  • Second place in IV National Physics Olympiad held in Acapulco Guerrero on October 20, 1993, awarded by the Mexican Physical Society and the Academy of Scientific Research.
  • First place in III State Physics Olympiad held on July 25, 1993 in Culiacan, Sinaloa, awarded by the Autonomous University of Sinaloa and the Mexican Society of Physics.
  • Second place in VI National Math Olympiad held in the city of Trinidad, Tlaxcala, on October 30, 1992, awarded by the Mexican Mathematical Society and the Academy of Scientific Research.
  • First place in IV State Math Olympiad held on June 26, 1992 in Culiacan, Sinaloa, awarded by the Autonomous University of Sinaloa and the Mexican Mathematical Society.
  • Third place in V National Math Olympiad held in the city of Oaxtepec, Morelos, on November 15, 1991, awarded by the Mexican Mathematical Society and the Academy of Scientific Research.
  • First place in III State Math Olympiad held on July 15, 1991 in Culiacan, Sinaloa, awarded by the Autonomous University of Sinaloa and the Mexican Mathematical Society.
